Tennis fans can look forward to watching around the clock coverage of the 2008 Championships at Wimbledon on their computers through MediaZone’s Wimbledon LIVE.

For the third consecutive year, MediaZone is the Official Live Broadband Video Partner, in cooperation with IBM and the AELTC, and will be streaming the Grand Slam live for online viewers worldwide.

The 2008 Wimbledon LIVE service includes full match coverage of Centre Court and Number 1 Court action, as well as 6 other courts in play.

In total, the service includes more than 300 matches and immersive features such as user ability to toggle between up to 8 courts, as well as live commentary, and complete integration with the official Wimbledon website.

Viewers are able to combine video coverage with player information, live scoring and statistics from all matches.

Since its debut in 2006, Wimbledon LIVE has joined March Madness and the Masters as mainstays on the broadband sports circuit as consumers have increasingly embraced the Web for hard to find sporting events or coverage that expands on traditional broadcast offerings.

In its two previous years, MediaZone’s coverage of Wimbledon has set tennis industry records for site visitors, live streams and downloads, while achieving a 129% increase in revenue.

MediaZone expects to continue this trend based on strong early demand for Wimbledon LIVE from tennis fans seeking in-depth coverage of the tournament available only through MediaZone.

Thanks. Fingers crossed. I’ve just requested mine.

Is there some place to get more details on this. I’m quite intrigued by it. If I use the download service is there a way to block out who won? So, could I just look at day 1 matches, download those I want to watch and watch them without knowing who won? And then proceed to day 2 etc.?

Also, I see the dowloads are in .wmv format. Is there any way that I could get them to play on my TV through my TiVo, Xbox 360, PS3 or Apple TV. That would be idea.

Once I get the info I’ll blog about it myself on The Daleisphere.

    Thanks
    …Dale
