Serena Williams has reached the 2008 Championships at Wimbledon semifinals after a dazzling display of power tennis on Tuesday in the round of sixteen.

It was a brilliant performance by the eight-time major champion as she beat Agnieszka Radwanska in straight sets 6-4, 6-0.

Williams posted only six unforced errors in the match, an impressive statistic because of her high percentage game. By the end of the fifty-one minute encounter, she hit twenty-seven winners and only dropped two service points during the second set.

China’s Jie Zheng joined Serena Williams in the semifinals from the top half of the women’s singles draw after upsetting Nicole Vaidisova 6-2, 5-7, 6-1.

Zheng, a doubles specialist, entered the competition with a wild card and is the first Chinese woman to ever reach the semifinals of a Grand Slam.
