Sony Ericsson WTA Tour Rankings: July 14

Ana Ivanovic stayed No. 1 when the July 14th edition of the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour rankings were released today.
The positions of the Top 10 players did not change as the 2008 Olympus US Open Series began on Monday in Stanford, California.
One significant mover on the Tour rankings is former Top 15 star Anna-Lena Groenefeld, who returned to the Top 200 at No. 172. The German player recently fell as low as No.436 during the week of June 9, 2008.

SONY ERICSSON WTA TOUR RANKINGS
The Sony Ericsson WTA Tour Rankings is the worldwide computer ranking for women’s professional tennis.
The ranking system is a 52-week, cumulative system in which the number of Tournament results that comprise a player’s ranking is capped at 17 Tournament results for Singles and 11 Tournament results for Doubles.
The results used to determine a player’s ranking are the Tournaments yielding the player’s highest Ranking points over the past 52 weeks.
