While your comment can be tennis-related, feel free to mention other sports, the Opening Ceremony, or anything that has captured your attention over the past week.

I’d say watching Michael Phelps win his 7th medal, and seeing his Mom’s reaction was big. If #8 comes his way, that will be the defining moment, not only for the sport, but for the Olympic games. I find it very strange that swimming is such a dominant sport in the Olympic arena but you don’t hear much about it during other times. Tennis, on the other hand, gets the least amount of media attention at the Olympics but during the rest of the year tennis is well publicized (with Grand Slams in particular).

Usain Bolt celebrating the gold medal and world record about 2 seconds before he actually did it. Unbeleivable. Just hope he’s clean.

Well, Michael Phelps has been sensational. 14 Gold medals will take another swimmer or someone similar to beat since the other sports don’t have that many events inclusive (as swimming does).
Venus and Serena winning gold in doubles at least they both got gold medals.(kudos, but I still feel Lindsay wasn’t the best choice to team up with Liezel, anyway, that’s past.)
Roger and Warinka, glad that something good happened for Roger Federer finally. At least a gold medal will make his year so much easier to live with.
Elena Dementieva(gold medal=Glandslam for her), always plays so well for Russia, even in FED cups.. a Russian clean sweep was interesting; even without Sharapova. Safina has never been fitter, such a great year for her.
But, by far, I have never seen such a blistering performance ever in a 100 meter dash. ***! I just thought to myself, was Usain Bolt just toying with the field. The crowd even stayed on further and kept cheering even though it was the last event of the day. One word, Amazing!!
I was a little kid when Ben Johnson did something similar for canada(albeit an unclean performance). But, this , yes, if he is completely clean is special. Michael Johnson, a
great olympian himself, described it as a the greatest race ever!!

As a tennis fan, I would have to say Rodger Federer winning his first Olympic gold medal. He has almost done it all in this great game, and you see how much it meant to him after the match. I hope this win can give him the boost he needs to get back on track.
The opening ceremony was also pretty mind-blowing! China has raised the bar for future Olympics.

I’d say Elena Dementieva’s winning moment. It has really been a very long wait for her to win a major tournament. And I think that she really deserves this one.

Aussie women 4 X 100 meter medley relay team winning gold. Libby Tricket winning individual gold. Our two basketball teams doing well and every aussie that come to games and give their best. Oh and that Phelps guy winning 8 gold medals wasn’t too bad either.

Australian Sally Mclellan’s silver medal performance in the hurdles. Her reaction was priceless.
