The doubles draw for the 2008 Sony Ericsson Championships has been announced in Doha, Qatar.
Only the four best doubles teams in tennis were invited to participate in the prestigious event.
The field is led by co-ranked No. 1 players Cara Black and Liezel Huber, followed by Katarina Srebotnik and Ai Sugiyama, Anabel Medina Garrigues and Virginia Ruano Pascual, and Kveta Peschke and Rennae Stubbs.
The doubles draw is played in a traditional elimination format, unlike the singles round robin competition.
Doubles action will begin on Saturday, with Black/Huber facing Garrigues/Ruano Pascual and Srebotnik/Sugiyama playing Peschke/Stubbs.
