Question MarkThe doubles competition at the Sony Ericsson Championships gets underway on Saturday with the four best doubles teams competing for a winner’s check of $375,000.

If you had an opportunity to play doubles with any woman—past or present—on the WTA Tour, who would you choose?

We discussed a similar question related to mixed doubles a few weeks ago, but after a special request by frequent OTB commenter Alice, we are revisiting the topic for women’s doubles.

The timing could not be more opportune as fans can watch eight of the current best doubles players compete this weekend in Doha.

Who would you pick for a fantasy doubles match? Would you choose a specific surface or tournament? Tell us your opinion in today’s edition of Open Forum Friday!

Have an excellent weekend, everyone!

    Hi Aaress, great topic!! :D

Well, i’d like to play against Ai Sugiyama and Kim Clijsters just because they where a good partnership and made doubles fun. I think bubbly Kim is missed by many fans of the sport.

I’d choose to play the match on grass because of my obvious sentimental attachment to the surface as a Brit, and because it’s all i’ve ever played on anyway lol!

My partner, Miss M. Bartoli. Of course.

My partner would be Lindsay Davenport who else. Against Black / Huber to see if they really are that good.

I think the best mixed doubles partners would be John MacEnroe and Sarina Williams. I would like to see them play against anyone at any tournament.
