Open Forum Friday

Jelena Jankovic is one of the most popular and likeable players on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour. The former world number one’s energetic personality has made her a favorite of millions.

But can Jankovic be described in just one word?

For today’s Open Forum Friday discussion, we want you to take a shot at describing Jankovic. What first comes to mind when you think of her?

The rules are simple—-you must use only one word. Afterward, if you choose, you can give us a paragraph or two explaining why you picked that word.

I’m not expecting everyone to gush over Jankovic with glowing one-word accolades, but we do ask that the conversation remain civil. OTB’s comment policy is in effect, so anything personally degrading or unduly harsh will be deleted.

To start things off, here is my word: Drama

Everything Jelena does is filled with drama. And that’s not a bad thing. She plays dramatically, talks dramatically, and lives dramatically. The self-professed shop-a-holic loves life and the drama it brings. For a sport that the mainstream occasionally classifies as boring, Jelena Jankovic is a breath of fresh air.

Your turn! Pick a word and leave us a comment. Have a great weekend, everyone!

Upset: after Flavia Penneta’s gutsy come from behind victory against Janko on the indoor clay in Stuttgart at the quarterfinal of the Porsche Grand Prix tournament today. But that’s just the word for today; the two previous entries apply also.

    Counterpuncher

Petulant – apart from occasional smiles, the major impression I leave with is someone who expects to win and is grumpy when she loses a point, a game or a match.

she laughs at herself…she applauds her opponents when they do something spectacular…she always laughs at interviews…entertaining…and it’s funny how she retrieves balls on the court inciting audiences with ‘oohhhs’ and ‘aahhh’…she..she is…she is just funny…
