France’s Nathalie Dechy Retires from Professional Tennis

Former Top 15 player Nathalie Dechy has announced her retirement from professional tennis.

The French Tennis Federation released a statement on Tuesday confirming Dechy’s decision to end her career.

The French Tennis Federation released a statement on Tuesday confirming Dechy’s decision to end her career.

Dechy, who is pregnant, is ready to focus on her family after spending sixteen years on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour circuit.

Currently ranked at No. 88, Dechy was a member of French Olympic team in 2000 and 2004. She won one WTA Tour singles title in 2003 at Gold Coast, as well as seven doubles titles, including the 2006 and 2007 US Opens with Vera Zvonareva and Dinara Safina, respectively. Dechy also partnered with Andy Ram to win the Roland Garros mixed doubles title in 2007.
