World number one Dinara Safina has proven herself to be one of the best players of this season with two Grand Slam finals already on her impressive highlight reel.
Tell us in this week’s edition of Open Forum Friday what you consider to be the most successful part of Safina’s tennis game.
Is the best element of Safina’s game her blistering groundstrokes from the baseline? Or is it her escape artist-like mentality that helps her storm back to a win after being down two breaks in a third set? Does her foot speed help her win free points against opponents? What do you think?
Everyone, feel free to leave a comment below with your answer. Have a great weekend and thank you for participating!

Her fighting spirit is incredible. She has shown it so many times especially during slams. It’s never the end for Dina until it’s GSM.
The ability to get inside opponents’ heads and make them choke – even someone as mentally strong as Maria Sharapova – has become synonymous with Safina.
Tactically, she’s had a lot of success hitting hard, deep balls down the middle of the court to cut out her opponents’ angles.
Watching Safina/Pennetta – the best part of Safina’s tennis game is athleticism, speed & power. Needs work on shot placement.
I have to say that her mentality and fighting spirit is very strong. Unfortunately when it comes to finals, she just don’t have that fighting spirit she used to have to go a step further and win it.
I think her tactics really shine when it comes to a typical match and that forehand is a weapon. Her speed is also exemplary for a quite a tall person like her.
I hope when it comes to her next grand slam final she finally brings home the bacon.
The best part is the one which is not in a slam final. Haha.
Only joking, great player.
The new season is going to be great.
