Former Australian Open winner Justine Henin will officially be back at Melbourne Park in 2010.
Tennis Australia announced Monday that the seven-time major champion has been awarded a wild card into the main draw of the Australian Open.
Tournament director Craig Tiley announced the news of Henin’s wild card in a statement released to the media.
“I spoke to Justine’s team over the weekend and was happy to grant her request for a wildcard into the Australian Open,” Tiley said.
“Justine is the ultimate competitor, the winner of seven Grand Slam titles, and we are looking forward to welcoming her back to the Australian Open.”
Henin won the Australian Open women’s singles title in 2004, defeating her countrywoman Kim Clijsters in the final. Clijsters is also expected to make her return to the Australian Open in January.

Yeees, finally we’ll see someone who really can play tennis not merely outhit their rivals. And no annoying grunts as an icing on the cake.
