The 2009 Fed Cup by BNP Paribas final will take place this weekend in Reggio Calabria, Italy.
Can the underdog American team battle their way to the title or will the experienced Italian claycourters win the coveted cup trophy?
Led by Flavia Pennetta who is enjoying the best season of her career, the Italian squad also includes Francesca Schiavone, Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci. Up against the Italians are rising stars Melanie Oudin, Alexa Glatch and Vania King, as well as co-ranked doubles No. 1 Liezel Huber.
