Vera Zvonareva to Have Right Ankle Surgery

World number nine Vera Zvonareva will undergo minor right ankle surgery on Wednesday in Rotterdam.

The Beijing Olympic bronze medalist expects to be back on court in four to five weeks.

World number nine Vera Zvonareva will undergo minor right ankle surgery on Wednesday in Rotterdam.

The Beijing Olympic bronze medalist expects to be back on court in four to five weeks.

Zvonareva’s arthroscopic surgery to remove scar tissue will be performed by Dr. Niek van Dijk, the head of the Orthopaedic Department of the AMC-hospital (Academical Medical Centre Amsterdam, University of Amsterdam) and full professor in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Amsterdam.

She is expected to remain in The Netherlands for two weeks for extensive rehabilitation.
