Match points saved: Didn’t Pennetta save a slew of them in her fourth-round defeat of Zvonareva?
Most titles: I thought last season was going to be an all-time low with 4 titles for the year-end no. 1 (the previous lowest had been six, I believe), but we descended even lower to 3. Thankfully, all 3 were meaningful titles (2 slams, YEC), but still… where is the domination??
Oh sorry… misread. “…en route to TITLE.” Sorry again.
Henin had a 32 match win streak in 08??? You sure?
Joana,
Henin’s 32-match winning streak was snapped in the 2008 Australian Open quarterfinals by Maria Sharapova. Until that point, Henin had not lost a match since the Wimbledon semifinals in 2007.
Hope that clears it up!
Thanks! It does clear it up.
