From what I’ve seen, not many of them have very good fashion sense. There are exceptions: Maria Sharapova has a European sophistication about her look that can be quite chic at times, and Amelie Mauresmo tends to look very good in her simple, but classic, outfits.

I recently saw a couple of stunning photos of Sabine Lisicki, dressed in a well-cut black blazer and white blouse, and she looked great.

I’m not that keen on photo shoots, but the nicest one I have ever seen was probably one done with Maria Kirilenko.

Sveta 4 sure! Maria Sharapova should not be counted!

I have to say that Maria Sharapova is the fashion-queen of tennis. As Mark Hodgkinson of The Daily Telegraph (UK) once wrote, she doesn’t wear tennis-outfits so much as launch them!

Maria does make fashion-mistakes sometimes (e.g. shorts at Wimbledon 2008), but she certainly has an impressive range of outfits.

Anna Chakvetadze wore some very nice on-court outfits particularly in the first four months of this year, while Daniela Hantuchová always has an amazing off-court dress-sense.

Serena W. has the best style, from her bags to her earrings. She knows how to accessorize. She looks good on the court and off, so she gets my vote.

I like Ana Ivanovic’s dresses. Maria’s outfits are interesting but I think they are a bit over the top and sometimes they go to far away from an idea of a tennis outfit. I think her designers should remember she is a sportwoman in a first place and tennis model second.
I always like Adidas outfits for that reason, they emphasize practicality although it is presented in a very elegant and simple way.
