Vera Zvonareva Switches to Prince Tennis Racquet

Published by Aaress Lawless on Apr 14, 2010 | Print |

Russian Olympic medalist Vera Zvonareva is now using Prince’s new EXO3 Black 100 tennis racquet, the preferred stick of nearly a dozen other ATP and WTA players on the professional circuit.

Prince, the total tennis company and leader in premium performance tennis equipment, proudly announced on Wednesday the addition of WTA touring pro, 25 year-old, Vera Zvonareva to its roster of sponsored athletes.

Zvonareva, currently ranked No. 22 in the world, will play with the company’s new EXO3 Black 100 racquet – the same racquet now used by nearly a dozen ATP and WTA players on the pro tour.

Prince and Vera Zvonareva“I trust Prince and the quality of the racquets they produce and know that the company is continually thinking about ways to take my game to a higher level. When I first picked up the EXO3 Black, I knew something was different, special about it, and the more time I spent with the racquet, the better it felt to me. I have already won my first title with it and am looking to make deeper runs at the bigger events this year, especially the Grand Slams.”

Zvonareva has been part of an ever-growing team of touring pros who have made the switch to use racquets featuring Prince’s patented O-Technology which are re-engineered around a series of unique, large “holes” in the frame that enhance the sweet spot, increase stability and deliver faster racquet swing speeds with less effort. The most recent iteration, EXO3, has already been adopted by such players as Gael Monfils, Maria Sharapova, the Bryan Brothers and Shahar Peer, with the Company introducing its three latest models, the EXO3 Black 100, the slightly lighter EXO3 Black Team 100 and the EXO3 White 100, to players worldwide earlier this year.

“Vera a fantastic talent, very athletic, and a tough competitor who is very capable of putting together strong showings at the major events and winning a Grand Slam,” said Helge Capell, Director of Global Tour at Prince Sports, Inc. “Now, with the new EXO3 Black 100, she feels as though she can hit out on the ball – generate even more punishing power, but with a bit more feel and control on her shots. Vera is yet another example of a top tour-level player understanding the benefits of the visible O-Tech “holes” found in all EXO3 racquets – and we are excited to formally announce the addition of her to the team.”

Aside from using the EXO3 Black 100 in competition and carrying the Prince Tour Team racquet bag, Zvonareva will represent the brand in various marketing and promotional initiatives including advertising, retail appearances, demo events and via other various consumer engagements and “touch-points” both in store, on-line and on court throughout the year.

It’s so cool that Vera has found a racket worthy of her talent, and so far, this is the only place I have read about it! :)

The third paragraph says “will play”, but Vera in the next paragraph says “I have already won my first title with it”.

(6th paragraph) “Vera IS a fantastic talent”

Thanks, Andrew, for noticing that . . . those were typos in Prince’s press release.

Vera’s always used a Prince racket but never sponsored until recently.

Good for her, now give a prince contract to marion bartoli! She also deserves it. In spite of no sponsors marion is very popular and already bringing in money for prince because she is using a prince racquet. Wake up marketing people, we are no longer interested in looking only at top model stereotypes!
