Clijsters posted on her Twitter page two days ago that she had resumed hitting, but despite her efforts to recover in time for the major tournament, she has opted to skip the competition.

The reigning US Open champion has been replaced in the main draw by Canada’s Stephanie Dubois.

Tournament officials at Roland Garros also announced on Friday that Sania Mirza, Urszula Radwanska, Anna-Lena Groenefeld and Sabine Lisicki have also withdrawn.

They will be replaced by Katie O’Brien, Anne Keothavong, Ekateryna Bychkova and Johanna Larsson.

Hope Sabine Lisicki will play Wimbledon, she is such a master piece to watch when in her high. I would love to see her winning big tournaments in near future she has everything to be on top.

Sabine had a disappointing season the last half of last year, I really had expected more. It’s discouraging to see a new player break through, then get sidelined due to injury. I enjoyed her play and hope to see her back. It’s rare enough when we get a female player who actually takes her serve seriously.
