Tournament Format

The singles event at the WTA Championships, which features eight players, begins as a round robin event, with the top two in each pool of four (maroon & white groups) moving on to the semifinals. From there, it is a single elimination draw.The doubles event at the WTA Championships, which features four teams, is a single elimination draw, beginning with the semifinal round.
