This week, On The Baseline will post its 10,000th tweet. On the Baseline has been an avid poster of tweets, those 140 character messages that lets the world know whats happening on the WTA tour. OTB has been on twitter from the very beginning dating back to March 2007. Since that time we’ve shared the latest scores, match results, breaking news, injuries, rankings, birthdays, interviews, and updates, all in 140 characters or less. Starting two weeks ago, we asked our audience for feedback on what their favorite tennis quotes were. We wanted to post a great tennis quote as our 10,000th tweet. We got a lot of great suggestions. Thank you! This week, we’ll honor a woman’s tennis legend by tweeting on of her greatest quotes. Tune in to twitter to find out what the quote is, and by whom it was said.

Update-3/1/2011: The 10,000th OTB tweet was a quote by the famous Billie Jean King: “A champion is afraid of losing. Everyone else is afraid of winning.”
