Nick Bollettieri Honored in NYC

Tennis coaching legend Nick Bollettieri will be inducted into the Tennis Industry Hall of Fame.

The induction ceremony will take place Aug. 24 during The Tennis Show in New York City. Bollettieri will be introduced by former student and current TV tennis analyst Brad Gilbert.

Bollettieri, who recently turned 81 years old, has coached 10 world No. 1 players: Andre Agassi, Boris Becker, Jim Courier, Martina Hingis, Jelena Jankovic, Marcelo Rios, Monica Seles, Maria Sharapova, Serena Williams and Venus Williams. The Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy, founded in 1978, was the first major tennis boarding school and changed the way tennis was taught at the elite junior level.
