Matthew Rudy has worked in sports media for more than 20 years as a writer, editor and blogger for Golf Digest, Sports Illustrated and Basketball Times. He has also written or ghostwritten 15 sports, business and travel books so far. Matt’s first international reporting assignment—the Australian Open for The Detroit News—came in 1994, while he was still at Michigan State University. East Lansing’s Todd Martin was courteous enough to get to the final. In high school, he played with a Slazenger Panther Pro Ceramic racquet because Jimmy Connors did. In addition to his journalism degree from MSU, Matt has an MBA from Fairfield University. He lives in Bridgeport, Connecticut with his wife (Penelope) and daughters. See more of Matt’s work here, or follow his personal Twitter feed here.

Penelope Rudy negotiated and closed dozens of licensing agreements as a senior international business development manager for magazine publisher Conde Nast in New York City. Before that, she was an online media buyer and planner for a variety of major consumer product brands. In 2009 and 2010, she traveled to 21 countries on five continents. Now, she travels less (but with more luggage when she does go), dividing her time between running a website group and a team of small Rudy children. Penne has technical journalism and business degrees from Colorado State University. She lives in Bridgeport as well.
