Two-time defending champion Justine Henin tumbled out of the 2008 Barclays Dubai Tennis Championships on Thursday at the hands of Italy’s Francesca Schiavone.
Schiavone pulled the biggest upset of the tournament by knocking out the top seed in two close sets.

Two months after completing the best season of her career on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour, reigning world No. 1 Justine Henin has been named the Laureus World Sports Academy’s Sportswoman of the Year.
Henin beat out Yelena Isinbayeva, Carolina Kluft, Libby Lenton, Marta, and Lorena Ochoa.

World No. 1 Justine Henin is aiming to rebound from her Australian Open loss at the upcoming Proximus Diamond Games in Antwerp.
The Belgian star is leading the main draw at next week’s Tier II tournament, followed by Anna Chakvetadze and Daniela Hantuchova.
